Reservations

The service is booked through the contact form on the website, online store, collaboration platform, email, or by phone. The person making the reservation must provide accurate contact information, including name, address, phone number, and email.

The service is considered officially booked when the reservation is paid on the online store or another platform. The service is also considered booked when an invoice related to the reservation, sent via email or another agreed-upon method, is paid. This could be an agreed-upon advance payment or the full amount of the reservation.

For online store reservations, the payment is made immediately. If the reservation is made on a platform other than the service provider's (MetsänTaikoja) own website/store (e.g., Booking.com), the payment practices and terms mentioned there will be followed.

An invoice related to the reservation, sent via email or another agreed-upon method, must be settled within 14 days of the reservation or by the due date specified on the invoice. MetsänTaikoja reserves the right to cancel the customer's reservation if the reservation payment is not made on time.

If the invoice is not fully paid at the time of booking, the remaining payment must be made at least 14 days before the start of the accommodation or experience.


Payment and Cancellation Policy

  • For reservations other than online store bookings, the customer will receive one invoice for payment through the agreed-upon method (email or mail). If the service is booked 14 days or later from the start date of the journey, the total price of the service is to be paid in full at the time of booking.

  • If the customer cancels the reservation more than 14 days before the start date of the service, MetsänTaikoja will deduct the actual incurred costs from the payment and additionally charge a handling fee of €50 per reservation. The remaining amount will be refunded to the customer's specified bank account.

  • If the trip is canceled 14 days or less before the start date, no refund will be issued. If the trip includes a flight ticket or other booking fees paid abroad, the portion corresponding to the flight ticket and booking fees will not be refunded under any circumstances. The customer can independently find a replacement traveler, and MetsänTaikoja may assist in finding an alternative traveler if possible.

  • If there are changes to the reserved group size, the reservation terms will be followed for the modifications.

  • All changes must be communicated in writing via email to: tiia@metsantaikoja.fi.


Insurance and Liability

MetsänTaikoja is not responsible for the customer's health, illness, injury, or the loss or damage of luggage during the trip. The customer is required to obtain comprehensive travel insurance, including both personal and luggage insurance. Personal insurance should cover the costs of canceling the trip due to illness, as well as any illnesses or injuries that occur during the journey, including associated medical treatments and medications. Luggage insurance should cover damaged or lost luggage and equipment.

Price

The price is as stated on the website or otherwise in writing. MetsänTaikoja reserves the right to adjust the price if currency exchange rates, the cost of necessary permits during the trip, or taxes change by more than 2% from the initially stated booking price.

Payment Service Provider

In the MetsänTaikoja experience online store, Stripe serves as the payment intermediary, facilitating the transfer of payments to the service provider.

Feedback to Us

If you have feedback or wish to make a complaint, please do so in writing by sending us an email within one week of the incident. This allows us to process feedback or complaints as quickly as possible.

Provider's Right to Cancel

The company and/or guide may cancel the service due to illness or other unexpected reasons. If this happen, the customer will be refunded all payments made to the service provider. MetsänTaikoja is not responsible for any other external costs incurred by the customer (e.g. transportation services ordered from another provider to the starting location).

Inappropriate behavior, causing a hazardous situation, or disruptive substance use during the service entitles the service provider to remove the individual and/or group immediately from the location. In such cases, the customer is not entitled to claim compensation for the interrupted service or any additional costs incurred.

MetsänTaikoja is not responsible for unexpected and exceptional situations beyond the company's control, such as extreme weather conditions or natural disasters, that make the implementation of the service difficult or impossible.

Damages and Losses

The client is responsible for any damages caused to the company's property. Failure to report damages may result in a supplementary charge of €150 if it causes inconvenience to the next customer, renter, or owner.

Changes to these terms and conditions

We reserve the right, at our discretion, to modify or replace these terms at any time.
